Odyssey Adventures

Truk & Yap

Dive into History and Adventure in Truk Lagoon & Yap’s Legendary Waters.

Truk Lagoon and Yap, both located in the Federated States of Micronesia, offer some of the most thrilling and diverse diving experiences in the world. Truk Lagoon, famous for its rich history, is a wreck diver’s paradise. During World War II, the Japanese fleet was anchored here, and over 60 shipwrecks and aircraft now lie beneath the clear blue waters, creating artificial reefs teeming with marine life. Truk’s shallow and deep wrecks, including sunken cargo ships, submarines, and fighter planes, offer spectacular dives, with the added bonus of vibrant coral growth and abundant marine life, including reef sharks, barracuda, and schools of fish.

Yap, on the other hand, is world-renowned for its manta ray diving. Known for consistent manta sightings year-round, Yap offers divers the chance to swim alongside these graceful creatures at Manta Ray Bay and other top dive sites. The diving around Yap is equally stunning, with dramatic coral walls, abundant reef fish, and opportunities to see large pelagics like sharks, eagle rays, and even whale sharks. Whether you're a history buff exploring the wrecks of Truk Lagoon or a manta enthusiast in Yap, these locations offer a combination of adventure, history, and rich biodiversity.
